E drive was completely deleted from my dell d620 by an idiot,I need it back
Wait a minute, you gave your computer to someone and they deleted the E drive? What was the E Drive? Most times it only appears when you put something in the USB Port unless you have 2 Disc drives, a cd drive and a dvd drive.
Are you sure your E drive has not been hidden by a virus or infection? It might still be there.

I don't believe so, I believe that it's integrated into the system. However, if it does have an enable/disable function, you will find it in either the device manager, or the system bios. If it's not in either of these, then you won't be able to disable it without removing it completely.

It's easy to miss the point at which you hit Ctrl + F11. You need to hit Ctrl + F11 at the point you see the blue bar across the top of the screen, it will display www.dell.com. If this is still not working you can use the XP operating system CD to reinstall XP and the Dell drivers CD to reinstall the sound, video, network and other drivers. If Dell didn't send you the operating system CD, you should contact them.

It is the backlight! That laptop uses a fluorescent lamp. It is bad.
If you look carefully at the screen, you will see the Windows desktop (or whatebver you are running). It just needs to be lit up.... from the back. Tel them to replace the LCd screen or replace the lamp.
Hope this helps!
