Sounds like a thermal intermittent connection on the memory wire (yellow). Try to seat the power harness better and see if it remedies the problem.

I have a kvt 815 my heater core blew in my car and wet up my hide away unit brain box can i use it with out the brain box

No, I'm afraid you can't. Unfortunately the only way you are going to find a new brain is either in a pawn shop, at a garage sale or on the internet on e-bay or someplace like that.

Kvt 815 dvd error

Mecha Error is a Mechanical Error. You can try to do a reset on the unit but in most cases this does not fix the issue but is free to try and sometimes can suprisingly fix these issue. This is pretty much going mean that the unit will need serviced as it can mean the laser is mis-aligned or is no longer working or can even mean something in the mechanics of the unit is jamed. You can go to http://www.kenwoodusa.com/support/simple.aspx?men=1&M2=38&M3=78 to look up a service center or call 1-800-kenwood to have them give you a service center to send the unit to.
