I was doing homework, and i multipied 2 numbers that should've equaled a decimal and they didnt and on the screen it said "fix" on the left
You can use FIX notation display but specify the number of digits you retain. Press [2nd][FIX] and select the number of digits after the decimal mark (from 0 to 9). However if you do you will constantly have many unnecessary 0.
You can set the display to FLOAT.
To do so, press [2nd][SCI/ENG]. From the three choices you have select FLOAT.

Sounds like you have a shorted out circuit card. Try replacing the batteries first to see if the power returns to the keys. If that doesn't work, you will find it cheaper to find a replacement calculator vs sending it to an authorized factory repair center. Hope this helps.
