The volume on my oregon mp3 player stays at the center control. I can turn the volume down, but when I try to turn it up, the whole device turns off. In order to turn it back on, I have to use the little button to reset it. What's going on...the volume isn't loud enough unless I can turn it up!
thanks

You have a round button on your Barbie Girls Mp3 player. Right? Well, you have a round button in the middle of the circle that is Pause. On the right and left hand side is the back and forwards buttons. The up and down buttons on it is the volume control. Up is louder. Down is softer. Hope that helped you, deary.
I have the GPX MW3847 and I couldn't get it to work at first. I finally figured out that the switch on the side needs to be set to off before you try to press the play button down. This sounds weird I know but it worked for me. Before I did this it kept saying "bye" and turning right back off.
Try a "hard reset".
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut off.
With the device off, press and hold the vol + and the center select button.
Power it back on, see if that works.
