Question about Canon ZR65MC Mini DV Digital Camcorder

3 Answers

No picture When the camera is on, the lens cover is off, camera is turned to camera selection to record but no picture. It is on Tape. Camera was fully charged. But if I change it to play and view stuff that was recorded from before, I can view that ok. I have another same camera that was vertical colored lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just a poor school trying to keep what we have running. Thanks.

There is no picture in the view finder when in the "camera" mode. While fiddling I was trying to record...We recorded SOUND but no picture. We are fully charged, and think we are in the proper mode and setup..We CAN play previous recordings back on the camera just fine and they are visual thru the view finder. Can anyone help? I have searched the manual for help from cover to cover.

    Thanks!

My Canon ES950 will not play back record or ffwd/rewind. I have removed the battery and using the plug in power supply plus changed the memory battery. There is however an icon on the view screen that appears to indicate low power??? Trying to playback old tapes but none will turn. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I also encountered this problem in ZR45, but according to the article this model is not on the list. This is the second time I encountered this problem, this model should be included on the list.

Just want to say thanks so much for this answer. I was looking for potential ways to fix the problem and ran across this. I would much rather Canon fix the problem! I followed your link, and hopefully soon I will have a repaired Canon ZR70MC!

Olympus Stylus 730 shuts off after few seconds. Battery is fully charged, tried a resetting: no change.

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover opens and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode.
Operate the zoom lever or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.

Cant see images through camera

Try removing the lens cap, sometimes it's just that easy. Be sure you have fresh DV tape in camera, and the setting is set to camera/tape.

Lens Error

Two things:

1. Remove the battery and put in back in after about a minute waiting time. See if this works when camea is in the Record Mode.

2. If not, with camera on, grasp it firmly with one hand and strike it on its edge on the heel of your other hand. This sometimes frees a momentarily stuck lens. BTW, this will sometimes work for other problems like lens cover not fully opening and freezing(lockup) of camera. Do this with camera on. Won't hurt camera when done against a firm but pliable surface like the heel of your hand.

DCR-HC96 Automatic Lens Cover won't open

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

Low battery maybe? Try holding camera firmly in one hand, with camera on and in record mode, and strike in on its edge firmly on the heal of your other hand. This technique is often sucessful with temporary camer 'quirks' like freezing, lens not fully retracting, etc.

Lens cover not open and blank screen

the problem of your camera is the ccd image sensor...better go to the sony service center for replacing the image sensor..i know it is free for replacing that sensor cause that is one of the model that sony recall produc and the cover not open error message is a poor contact of the lens cover switch...

Partially closed lens when powering on Canon A520 Camera

This is a fault that Canon should know about- it may mean a replacement camera- therefore Canon Technical Support should be consulted.
