Question about Ricoh Aficio 2027 All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Copier Orientation When i use the feeder tray the copies sometimes come out as "landscape" on a portrait setting. So half of the intended copy is cut off as if it tried to copy a landscaped picture on a portrait background. I have all the settings for the paper tray to portrait and i dont understand why the document prints landscape. This problem comes and goes for seemingly no reason. I don't know what triggers it or how to fix it. Help!

Make sure you have the paper loaded in one tray as portrait and the other as landscape. Also make sure in the system settings that the tray settings match the orientation of the paper in the trays

Copier prints page out in landscape not portrait

Check your paper tray settings under system settings/paper tray settings. You can also try turning off auto image.

Tray 1 has defaulted to a landscape orientation--cannot find a way to redirect it to portrait. NOT an issue with placement of paper to be copied.

There's a dial on the front right corner on each paper tray that tells the copier which paper size is loaded in that tray. In the case of letter size paper it also indicates orientation. If the short edge is facing the front of the copier the dial should be on LTR, if the 11" edge is closest to the front the dial should be set on LTRR.

No matter how i place the original on the glass, or even whether i use auto-feed, the copy is oriented landscape. How can i default it back to portrait?

Hi Anthony,
This is one of those "oh ****" moments. Please take a look at the orientation of the paper in the paper trays. Please open both paper trays,(you may have 4 trays, with the option of a 5th large large tray) and please carefully look at the orientation of the paper. I will use the terms that "some" folks use(and it is helpful) to describe the paper orientation. There is "long edge feed" and "short edge feed" I prefer landscape and portrait as you do.Now, the most likley problem you have is that the "DIAL" for paper size (located at the front right of the PAPER TRAY itself ) is set incorrectly. You will have many settings available to you thru this "BLUE DIAL" . The copier trusts that you have looked at the orientation of the paper and therefore set the dial appropriately. If there is a "mismatch", you can have paper jams or image problems. I bet you a dollar this is problem. The dials say one thing, and the paper is set differently. Happy new year!. Give me a pat on the back @ FIXYA if I helped please. If I didnt help you, I am very sorry.

Canon imageRunner 5055 copying in landscape instead of portrait

Double check paper orientation when you put paper into the feeder and how the paper is loaded.

The orientation of the page in the feeder and the page in the drawer should match.

Canon iR 3570

Open your top paper tray drawer and there should be a dial on the on the tray drawer (light blue). On there is different paper sizes. Turn it until you get "Ltr" and the paper is going up & down. This should fix the problem. We just had that same problem today and that's what the tech person told us. (Also, this dial only turns in one direction to the left). MMc
