Ip4200 stopped printing...help!

Ran out of black ink. Ordered new cartridge from Apple website, put in new black cartridge. Printer worked fine. For about two weeks. Now, is not printing when I got to print a letter style document (one with no color, just black). I see there are two BLACK ink cartridges in there, one big one, and the new one I put in next to it that is thin.Any ideas?

I changed two colour ink cartridges on my Canon iP4200 printer. Now it won't print colour. The pattern check does not print any colour.

You might want to double check to make sure that your printer takes two color cartridges? If I remember correctly, the Pixma takes one black and one color cartridge? If you put a color cartridge in the black ink assembly that would cause it to stop printing.

Double check and make sure that you have one black cartridge in the correct place and one color on the other side.

Was working fine. Ran out of ink. bought new black and color cartridges (ordered from Zerox) Cannot get printer to print in color or black. I have cleaned print heads etc.but to no avail. Thanls

There are some soft pads in the bottom where the ink cartridges sit.
Try this. Unplug the printer. lay some paper towells under where the print cartridges are inserted and drip some alcohol down into that area. That will soften and unclog the print head. Do that a ferw times to losten up the ink and flush it out. Then allow the printer to sit for a while then run several test pages. Most of the time that will resolve the problem you are having, Those liquid inks dry and get very tacky and will not allow ink to flow properly.

Canon iP4200 thinks it has two yellow ink catridges installed

I have had this happen a couple of times to me with a few cartridges so if you can be sure it's just the black that has changed then I'd contact your retailer and request a replacement under warranty.

The only other way to solve this is by process of elimination using some other cartridges. If you know of someone else with a similar printer model that uses the same cartridges then perhaps ask nicely :)

Printing Problem

Look for ink clogged on the printer head. Run cleaning or deep cleaning after installing the new cartridge before printing. Take nozzle check print.

Black Won't Print On MFC 420 CN

Use another new genuine (original brother) BK cart. Do the cleaning twice only for BK. Wait some time (4 hours). If the ink has dryed up, the cleaning ink will break up the dryed one. Do the cleaning again. If it doesnt work, please write again.

Cannot get yellow to print

I had the same problem with the yellow cartridge. Yellow quit printing, put in a new yellow and still would not print yellow. I had a help file, don't know where I got it, but it suggested replacing the black ink cartridge also, even though the black wasn't low yet. Replaced the black, ran a few nozzle cleans and everything worked fine. Don't know why. Try it
