We have an RCA tv that tries 3 times to click on and off, and then just turns off. We cannot turn it on with the remote, or with the power button... it just clicks 3 times as if it's trying to turn on with each click, but doesn't ever turn on.

There is no reset button on any tvs that stop in 1980s when they no longer used tubes in chassis,s now the only tube is your picture tube. you probly have a shorted hori out put transistor.

Toshiba 46g310u turns off and on by itself

The problem is a voltage dip. I can reproduce this on the same model TV by turning on the A/C or the oven and dryer at the same time. As soon as I hear the thermostat click on the TV shuts off. Just order a voltage regulator today, will see if that works.

Tv randomly shuts off

next time it shuts down and power light goes out--do the self check.

On front of set press and hold BOTH MENU AND INPUT BUTTONS FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS AND RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS.

Power light (if an error is detected) will blink a two digit code.

Most common is 2 blinks, pause and 2 blinks---set if there is a error code will repeat it at least 5 times.

If you detect a error code, let me know and I will tell you what it means.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

Tv shutting off on its own.

Was talking to one of the experts on the "chat live now" tab and he suspects a power supply problem. Who knows??
