Question about Bose Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Power failure short

When round part of plug on power supply cord is inserted into back of sounddock 2 the green light behind silver cover comes on and blinks then goes off, no sound from speakers. If cord is jiggled around near back of sounddock the power, sound and green light will come on for a few seconds then power off again. Tried a new power cord from Bose but still have same problem ???

SOURCE: TV Picture Goes Black

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

SOURCE: blu-ray + bose 3-2-1 system connection?

Connect an HDMI cord from the bluray player to a free input on your HDTV. Then connect the standard WHITE/RED stereo cable from the bluray player into the AUX input in the back of your 3-2-1 system and voila!

You may need to check the configuration of your bluray player to make sure that is outputting stereo audio, for this please refer to the player's user manual. Other than that, you should be alright.

How to wire a plug

In USA, Either the male or female plug connector would be wired the same. Black is hot wire and would connect to the BRASS colored round head screw ( Smallest flat prong or slot ). White is the neutral wire and would connect to the SILVER colored round head screw ( Largest flat prong or slot ). Green is the ground wire and would connect to the GREEN screw ( ONLY HEX shaped screw ). 1) FOR YOUR LIFE SAFETY, ALWAYS USE 3-WIIRE PLUGS WHEN REPAIRING 3-WIRE EXTENSION CORDS! 2) Check the male plug connector. It should have two flat and one rounded prong. The rounded prong is the ground wire connection. If the ground prong is missing, replace the plug. 3) Inspect the outer cover for damage. 4) Do not use cords with damaged outer covers. Taping over the damage is not an adequate repair, for safety, replace the cord.

In that case the power supply of your television have problem.Maybe there's a loose connection in the power supply board or maybe there's a leak capacitor. If you have no knowledge in repairing television and you want to do at your self, first things to do is to remove the back cover of your television.Look the power supply.Remove the screw and the cover of the power supply and try to resolding the board.Check if there's aleak capacitor. The leak capacitor have rounded shape at the top while the good is flated shape.Replace the capacitor with the same value.

I am having trouble connecting a replacement for power cord. It should fit but it doesn't.

Hi, This may be remedied believe it or not by a little whittleing. Be very careful as you are dealing with a 110 volt a.c. line cord, any signs of silver or copper color may mean the cord has been damaged! It sounds like the end of the cord might be a bit misshapen. if the receptacle on the back of the bose ( where the cord plugs in ) is for example squared off on the one side while the other is rounded off (or vice versa-the receptacle is rounded while cord is flat along one side ) then you may whittle the flat side to match the plug in. also sometimes the plug end that goes into the Bose may need to be notched ( this can bee seen on any number of cords that you may even already have-a little groove on one or both sides right in between the holes at the end ).
Thanks for asking FixYa, I hope i was of some assistance, let us know if so or even if not, thanks again and good luck, Prodzilla.

Hello. Hope you got working already. But if you're still having the problem, unplug the power supply (the small black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached) with the other end still plugged in to a known working power outlet. Look around the black box, it should have a green LED on around the silver contacts. If not, properly secure the power cord by unplugging and plugging it back in. Otherwise, you got a defective power supply. Try not to use extensions or power strips, plug printer straight to the wall power outlet or plug it to a different known working power outlet. If the power supply is working fine, plug it back in the printer in a correct position. Properly insert it and make sure it pushed all the way in the printer. If you're still getting all blinking lights once plugged in, your printer might be damaged by the the lightning strike. If that's the case, you can call Lexmark and ask for assistance with that. Well, these are the troubleshooting steps you can do to determine where the problem is. Good luck!

Bose sound dock doesn't work at all

If this is the original SoundDock, the power supply in back is 4 pronged and a pin could be broken. If it makes a quiet thumping sound, then just make sure the power supply is not plugged in upside down (it's easy enough to do).
If this is the SoundDock II or the SoundDock portable, it's hard to say why this would happen, so you should call Bose on that one. There should be an indicator light that tells you when it has power..

When i plug in my sound docking station it makes a knocking sound

The only 2 possibilities are: 1. The power supply IS bad and needs to be replaced. (not the cord, but the supply itself) 2. The 4-prong power supply plug at the back of the SoundDock isn't connecting properly (try flipping it upside down, or making sure "DC power" is written on top if it's a later version.)
If this is the SoundDock Portable or SoundDock II, then the problem is definitely the supply.
Bose can send a new supply for $50+, or repair a non-warrantied SoundDock for $99.

The most common failure are the two convergence integrated circuits part # 267P173010. The two pico fuses may be open as well, which come from the power supply and provide +24 volts and -24 volts.
