LOL, you've go to take the laptop apart because in most cases the DC Power Jack is soldered onto the motherboard. That means once you get the motherboard out of the laptop be prepared to spend an hour or two trying to desolder and remove the one that is bad. This is like being a surgeon. You have to be very careful or you will damage the motherboard. Once you've got it off, then you have to solder the new jack onto the motherboard and put the thing back together.
