I have had the Samsung PCK5315RX for about 6 years. Not exactly the most reliable TV ever. About two years ago, I had to have the power supply replaced. The latest problem is that the video freezes as soon as the TV is turned on. The audio is fine but the video locks into one frame that's all distorted. When I turn on PIP, the PIP window video isn't froze (the main picture is still frozen), but the picture is in black and white. It doesn't matter what the video input is; DVD, satellite, over-the-air are all the same. I saw a mention in another site's posting that it might be related to a bad color chip. I'm no TV expert so I have no idea if that is right. This started occuring around the time the power company had to replace a faulty underground power line to our house. No visible signs that the TV recieved a power surge, but I thought I wuld mention it.
Greeting from belize i have never heard about a tv freezing only a computer or a dvd. dvr vcr.however your problem is the color chip on your circuit board it needs to be replace take it to a tech to have it replace it will cost you about $80.00 to repair.good luck.
