Purple images with horizontal white lines

It started while I was out of the country. It started gradually with a purple images on the LCD; with time it added horizontal white lines. I thought my battery might be low so I charged my battery but the problem persisted. I tried all settings to no avail. The pictures appear blurry and purple with horizontal white lines. What seems to be the problem? I love this camerra. I have had it for few years.

Same purple blur. It's like you just took a picture on very slow shutter time
aiming for a purple something en slowly turned the camera to the left.
You can't see anything through the live view and the same if you take a picture.
Very nice... See if I can contact Canon.

  • malmalakeh Feb 07, 2009

Also the same started outside the county, i thought it was due to very cold weather but when i came back home it got fixed for several days and back again to the problem.
Restoring factory settings wont help ....
I wander is this the end?
Please help and thanks in advance....

If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries.
