Question about Palm m515 Handheld

Palm turns on but will not operate programs

The palm 515 died so I charged it and then did a restore which was successful. When I turned the palm off and on the screen turned on with the palm powered tmc logo and now it will not allow me to access any data nor will it turn off when I press the off button. Seems to be frozen. I pressed the the reset button (inserting a paperclip) and that did power off the unit. If I turn the unit on it goes back to the white screen and freezes with the "palm powered" logo. Thanks,

My Palm Tungsten E2 does not turn on.

Have you tried doing a soft reset? To do a soft reset, use the tip of the stylus to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.

Palm pilot will not stay powered up. It has power for about 3 seconds then goes blank. There is a full charge on the battery too.

Sounds like it is time for a new battery. Not expensive.
Google for palm 515 battery and you should find a few places. Worth doing if you can do yourself or if you really like your 515 ;-] Labor cost on top of the battery might be the deciding factor.

Palm Desktop needs to be installed on the new computer to sync. The sync will copy most of the info on the pda onto the computer.

My palm 515 just stopped holding a charge ...flickered for a few seconds and died on me.Does the battery need replacing?

hook up the charger and see if the palm works .. if it does and the battery wont charge then yes you need a new battery ... they are not expensive but you need a tiny torx tool to get the back off ... thats available at many hardwares .. there are battery kits available that include the tool .. i just took my palm with me and the hardware matched it up with the proper torx ..

M515 Palm Pilot

here is your manual in PDF form
www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/m500series_ug.pdf

if the unit was new then you would charge it for about 10 hours .. but since its not likely new then it doesnt hurt anything to just leave it on charge ... you can even operate the palm while its charging .. over night charge should be enough to get pretty close to full ... the palm internally automatically turns off the charge when the battery is full .. so you dont have to worry about over charging .. if the unit wont come on then you can do a "reset" (back at top)

Palm vx hand held

the stylus is that little pokey stick that comes with the Palm.  Use it to tap the X on the screen.  It is an alignment program for the touch-screen.
