Scanner not reading

I just got an Orbit scanner with Keyboard wedge interface. Upon connecting it to the PC. The test beep is heard. After that the lasers can be seen blinking. But the scanner is not reading any codes. Not even the programming codes. I can not get further than this I do not know any other way to program the scanner but by scanning barcodes. I downloaded the programming software, but they only refer to rs232 interface. How can I fix this ? Oh yes I tried more than one computer with no luck

SOURCE: Locked Metrologic MS9520-37 (keyboard wedge) after unintentional programming

You programmed it for usb interface, but the scanner is keyboard wedge. Try pointing the scanner at the "recall defaults" barcode in the manual as you plug the scanner back in.

How do I read Barcodes in Microsoft Excel?

<p>Bar code symbols are composed of a number of adjacent bars and spaces of different widths of pre-defined codes. I wish to connect a bar code scanner to my Keyboard Display Unit for inputting data when printing labels. Can you provide information relating to pin outs, protocols and how to set this up? Thanks

By Keyboard / Display unit I'm assuming your using a PC, thin client or dumb terminal. If you are using a PC then the easiest way to do this is to get a bar-code scanner with a USB interface, no programming should be required with possibly the exception being of adding a "Enter" (CR LR) after each scan.

If you have a dumb terminal then you may need to look at trying to use an RS232 connection (if one exists) or a keyboard wedge solution where the scanner is plugged into the keyboard port along with the keyboard.

In any event pin outs would vary depending upon the scanner you want to use and the device you are connecting the scanner to.

Hope this helps

Scanner beeps but doesn't enter data into system

Have you scanned the configuration barcodes on the manual? For example if you are using keyboard wedge cable, you will need to scan the keyboard wedge barcode from the manual. Page 20.

Can't install Symbol LS2208 barcode scanner on a PC (Wedge cable)

You will need to scan the barcode that configures the LS scanner to use keyboard wedge or even the set all defaults barcode. You will be able to find both of this on the product reference guide that you can download from www.symbol.com in the support page.

Scanner doesn't turn on

Hello Loverboy,
the scanner turns on automatically as he he receives power from the host interface.
Please check the cables and connection. For RS232 interface would you need an external power supply. USB can power the scanner without external power supply. By Keyboard Wedge installation please connnect also the Keyboard.

Symbol LS 4000i scanner issues

Hello, it looks like the scanner lost the settings. As power is there, so connection is ok. The several (four) beeps after reading the barcode means communication error.
Please try to find the original sheet with configuration barcodes or download it from support.symbol.com website, you would need to scan the barcode for IBM PC/AT & IBM Compatibles from Keyboard Wedge Chapter.
