Trying this should sort it, if not a drive fault:-
Right click My computer>properties>device manager>hardware, then on CD/DVD devices line, click '+' sign then right click on your CD drive and click uninstal.
Re-start your notebook and Windows should find it again and install drivers automatically.
Try a cd in see if any better.

I just format my harddisk and did partition again i think there was must be a system codec file which was occuring a problem at the time of writing and making image from hard disk by using nero
It seems that what you have is a combo drive only :( it only recognize DVD reading. no matter what driver you used. need to buy a dvd writer/ that said can write dvd.

Your should have 24x CD-RW/DVD (Sony) with your model, if drive is reading well you may be missing DVD rendering software try Power DVD or WINDVD.but still you can only read with the current dive you have its a combo drive that can only read DVD and burn CD's, Recording DVD is not possible.
