I would take another look at the drum cleaning blade as well as the CEL and PTL. Any time I've had problems with double images, the drum carriage and parts associated to it have been the problem. I remember one notable case where I removed and shrouded the drum to protect it from light, cleaned both the charge corona and the discharge corona, cleaned the PCL and the PTL of toner dust, vacuumed the drum carriage of toner dust, cleaned the developer unit and replaced the developer. I finally got clear copies and the customer was satisfied.

Double printing or double feed??. Double printing means document printed in 2 copies. Double feed means printer feed double paper in one moment. For double printing, please check number of copy of document in printing preference properties. Double feed occurs when pickup roller fails to pick the paper correctly. It's usually caused by shaft of paper pick up roller which is broken. You should replace drive assembly (include pick up roller) in this case
When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
Does your machine have double siding capabilities?
If so on the control panel under original / copy. select 1:2, this will give you a double sided copy from a pair of single originals even off the glass.
The duplexer is for 2 sided copies. You can take 2 single sided copies and make (duplex) them into 1 double sided copy. You can take double sided copies and make more double sided (2 sided) copies with the duplexer. You can also take double sided copies and make single sided copies. Hope this helps.
My Brother printer MFC-465cn is doing the same thing. I have workaround / worked-around it by disabling bi-directional printing. Then print is clear. It's as if the head is shifting an irregular amount on the opposite direction, like the head is loose.
Same for copies. If I use the PC interface to make copies, I can set the copy printing to be mono-directional, then copies are clear.
