Question about Singer 5062 Mechanical Sewing Machine
When I try to stich, the thread comes out of the needle and the bobbin thread gathers on the underside of the fabric being stiched. This happens repeatedly. The machine worked fine earlier.

I had the same problem where the thread was getting all bunched up on the underside. I took everything out and followed the manual concerning threading, then manually moved my right wheel to see if it would get bunched up. It took awhile, but I finally got it sew correctly again. I;m still not sure what was wrong with it. I have a singer 7470.

I had the same problem and one day my 9 year old said Mommy the thread is winding and cathing. I noticed that if the thread is not close to the silver metal arm it coils and makes a knot around the silver feed arm and also sometimes it cathces the little white plastic peace where the silver feed arm is connected to the machine.

Suspect the lower drive mechanism is out of time with the upper drive. See your local service agency for repair.

SOURCE: thread mess at the underside of the fabric
Hi, maybe your bobbin is turning the wrong way and you need to flip it over. Or you don't have any top tension. Be sure the thread is in between the tension disks with the foot up. Its also possible that there is a burr on the hook part that goes around and grabs the top thread. The thread will catch on the burr and cause this issue. Usually after breaking a needle. Then the burr would need to be polished off.

Have the same probelm
the thread pops out of the needle when I try to sew
thread pops out of needle when i begin to sew
I have a problem with the bobbin thread. Thread is gathering in big loops on the underside of the material. I used two different colors and discovered the bobbin thread is not even being picked up--it's all spool thread. How can I fix this?
