The C:13:01 error code indicates the issue with the Media used in the Camera.
This may be due to the: Format Error of the Internal Memory. Un-formatted Memory Stick Duo. Broken Memory Stick Duo. Memory Stick Duo type error. When the Camera cannot Read or Write the data in the Memory Stick Duo.
This can be resolved by Formatting the Internal Memory and Memory Stick Duo. If not resolved, try inserting a new Memory Stick Duo which is supported. Try power resetting, remove and reinsert the Memory Stick etc.
This will resolve the issue, if not the Camera may require service.
A letter and number error code of C:13:xx
is an indication the recording media (floppy disk or Memory Stick®
media) you are using is either not supported for use with the camera,
not formatted properly, or is damaged or faulty. Since you have swapped out the memory already and reformatted it, we'll probably have to assume that the reader is dirty. But first make sure that you re-formatted the stick using the camera, not a computer, as Sony claims that a computer format is not supported.
Sollution for all these things is to reformat the chip. YOU DONT NEED A
SPECIAL PROGRAM. My camera unfortunately has no firmware with a format
option, so i tried the Windows ones to let this thing run. And it
worked after these MAGIC WORDS: format y: /FS:FAT /A:8192 the y: is the
driveletter for the chip in your pc and the important word is /A:8192
-- means that the clustersize on the chip has to be 8kB. The standart
format in windows is using 512b clusters on a chip with these sizes.
Hi There, In the menu there should be a setting to set the camera back to factory. Try re-formatting the card. Try using a different card. The camera has some built in memory, take card out and shoot 2 pics on built in memory, is playback ok?
If not, card reader may be defective. Only service shop could tell you that for sure.
Let me know, mr cicmo.
Switch your camera to Setup on the control **** located on the top.
Take out the memory stick and press the reset button located inside the battery compartment.
Now switch on the camera and insert the memory stick.
If you do not get the error go to the little toolbox on the menu. Select the format option and proceed through the warning messages. Remeber you will loose all data on the memory stick.
Things should now work. If not some simple thing that sound bezare but has worked for me is pushing the memory stick in and out before the camera displays the error. Do this several times until the camera actually reads the stick and them format the stick first chance you get.
