Question about Durabrand DUR7 Portable DVD Player
My friend give me hers in frustration for the same problem. Turned out to be that little tiny switch under the lid. Inside, just to the right of th play button, is asmall black needle-looking thing sticking up. It's protected by a little plastic fence. This whole thing is less about 5 mm across. To test it, open the lid, then use a pencil or something to hold down the switch ALL THE WAY, then see if the unit springs to life. If so, then look at the bottom of the lid and find the little bump that presses down on the switch. Find some way to build that up a little bit, maybe a few layers of fingernail polish, or a small felt sticker, or some glue. Once it starts pushing that switch down a little further, the unit will work OK. I ended up using a teeny tiny little screw like the kind that mounts a hard drive in a PC, but I had to drill out a hole for it first. I wouldn't do it that way again. Now if that fixes your problem, let me know exactly what that wide/normal switch does! I can't tell if it actuall keep the correct aspect ratio or if it just stretches the picture. Drop me a line at [email protected] and let me know. Hope that helps you out!
