Can't stop cycle

Sounds like it may be a timer issue. Prior to this, have you had any other issues or error codes displayed?

My problem turned out to be related to a mat that refuses to dry. I guess the dryer interpreted it as 'still ful of water' so it kept trying to drain.

I powered off at the switchbox of my home and it eventually released the door.

    thanks anyway

You probably have some other issue with the machine if it won't stop, but the machine may also not be spinning the mat out because the load is unbalanced. If you put it in on spin only, watch to see if it actually spins up to speed or not. You will see it rotate the drum back and forth a couple of times - it is sensing the weight of the load and trying to balance it. I the machine can't balance it, it will never spin up to max speed. If this happens, put a few other items in the washer with the heavy item (they need to be of similar weight - like some towels or a heavy jacket or something) and try again. Good Luck

GE Top Loading washer doesn't aggitate properly.Model # WJSR4160DW

Reach into the washer and try to turn the agitator by hand and if you can turn it freely the agitator coupling (sometimes called the air bell) is stripped out. If that isn't the problem let me know. Here is the part should you find it bad.

Kenmore HE2 washer will not automatically advance through all the cycles

I had this same /similar problem with my machine and found that the micro-computer board on the top rear near the cover of the machine are very prone to having bad electrical contacts on the board where the wire connectors go. The answer simply was to remove this board and add solder to each and every solder pad that goes to the connectors. The board is not bad (defective) just poor electrical connections. The repairman probably just wiggled the 1 with the issue and it worked for you for months as described! Perhaps you could get away with just disconnecting the electrical connectors and plugging them back in -it could buy you some more time before fixing it permanently with solder!

Good Luck!

Hi, I own a Whirlpool Thin Twin Model# LT5000XSN1. I bought it used from a CRAPPY dealer (worst mistake EVER), since day one, we have had an issue with the spin cycle. The cycle will agitate then when the...

This sounds like a classic clogged empty pump issue. The empty cycle is timed and then it steps on to the spin cycle. The machine won't spin if there is still water in the bottom of the drum. When you reset it to a spin cycle again, you are making it run through the empty cycle again, finally getting rid of the water that the clogged filter could not evacuate on the first attempt.

You need to clean the empty pump filter. Now... Where is the filter???? Hmmmm... not sure. It MAY be behind a little panel in the front of the machine near the bottom. I can't find a picture of the machine on the net so I'm not sure.

Clean the filter, I'll bet your problem goes away. You have to wonder why the idiot who sold the machine to you hasn't suggested this!
