Garmin c330 gps will not turn on

I have a Garmin c330 GPS. When I turn it on, either nothing happens or the Garmin display comes up and then immediately shuts down unless I hold the power button, even then it does not go any further with the display. Do I need a new battery or is this thing broken?

    Was workign fine for 2 hours and then the face went black does not charge in the car charger.........does not charge withthe USB Cable.

    Brand new jsut received it on Tuesday..HELP

    My gps will trun on briefly and then shut off. I did by a new charger and it still does the same thing. Any thing else I can look for to fix this?

    I have the same problem. I turned my Garmin StreetPilot c330 on and it stayed on for less than 5 seconds and now it does nothing. I have checked the power source and it works with no problems. What should I do?

    Garmin c330 gps will not charge in vehicle. I have tried it in 3 vehicles. The Garmin strictly runs on its battery. When the battery power runs out the unit goes down.

Try this just worked for mine


1.Under the face plate by the Garmin Logo.Use your thumbnail to remove the plate.
2.Press the reset button.
Information located on page 28 of the owners manual if you need a diagram.

I have a garmin c330 gps i bought last december and now ot won't come on and stay on. is battery bad?. can i recharge? and if so, how? i have an 05 honda pilot and had all plug ins checked and they work,so it's not that.

My garmin c330 will only work with a usb port connection and when i unplug it it goes dead again,, do i need to replace a battery inside somewhere?
This is very possible, if when you press the power button on the unit and it is not connected to anything and nothing happens

Have you checked the fuse in the end of the cigarette lighter adapter? If not unscrew the metal end of the adapder, this will expose a fuse, replace it and try it again.

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

GARMIN PROBLEMS
Had the same problem. Called Support. They answered immediately - a HUMAN, no recording, speaking American English - walked me through some tests, diagnosed a defective battery, gave me info on returning unit, I had it back in a flash. This is a classy outfit, and the Garmin C330 is a superb piece of equipment, has been flawless since.

You can buy a new C330 now for $125 - $175. It would probably cost that much to repair the old one, I would replace it.

How to charge garmin c330 gps from computer
The unit came with a USB cable. Plug this into the GPS (when it is turned off) and it will come on and the unit will charge while showing an image of the GPS connected to a computer tower.

Dos not come on.
Does it come on at all, or you get nothing when you press the button? How long are you trying to charge it on the computer? Try charging it for about 10 hours on the computer. Sometimes this can help.
