Regarding a Frigidaire Tumbler Washer Model fwt449gfs.
The drum has been filling very slowly with water overnight. form what I can deduce, the most logical culprit would be a defective water valve.
Am I correct to replace the water valve as the first step?

Yes the water vale is defective it has goten a little piece of sand of something in it and it dont take much replace the valve and the problem will be gone good luck

I understand that your Frigidaire laundry center is not filling with water. It sounds like you could be having a problem within water valve, control board, or door switch. I have the same problem with mine. Unfortunately I discovered it when opening the door to load it. .....Flooded my utility room.
The repair man has replace the seal, control board, and door latch assy in attempt to remedy this problem.
Thankfully I have an extended warranty on it.
I have the same problem. It fills with water during the evening (but not every night). I will check the water valve and see what I can do.
