One day with the gps, it was working good, connected it to the computer to load some music and update the software and when I disconnected it, everithing was frozen. It wouldn't turn off with the regular on /off button. I tried the reset button, but every time I turn it on is the same, it just displays the welcome screen and stays there forever until I push the reset button again and turn it off. I tried connecting it again with the computer, and I can handle the device from the computer software, but once is disconnected it's gone. Any ideas? started by having problems turning on, it would take forever. I reset it, seemed fine. Now the screen has stripes and is frozen.
Sounds like your firmware is corrupted. I have fixed a few 910's with this same problem. If you have the Tom Tom Home program installed, try to reinstall the firmware using Tom Tom's website.
Make sure you always select to disconnect the device before unplugging it. You might have unplugged it from the PC while it was still writing data. This will certainly corrupt the firmware.

. You should see the Tomtom drive under My Computer as a drive letter.
all data from the Tomtom to a folder on your computer. Now select the Tomtom drive and right click, select properties, select tools, and then Check now. Allow the computer to fix any problems with the Tomtom drive. Once this is completed. Remove the USB cable and do a reset. Now turn on your Tomtom and it should work.
