Keyboard randomly double spaceing when pressing space bar.

Normally, when i hold the spacebar, there will be an space, half an second delay, than it starts adding spaces...

Well, apparentlythe half an second delay is gone, and randomly while typingan message(like 10 times so far while typing this out) it adds anextra space...It's really annoying. I installed the keyboard wirelessmedia keyboarddrivers from the disk that came with the package, butthat didn't fixit...

Also I should probably mention, i had this keyboard for about 1 to 1 and an half years so far.

SOURCE: I do not obtain to type accents

This probably has more to do with the settings in the computer than directly with the keyboard.

Assuming you're running Windows, you need to make sure you have your language settings right.

The machine I'm using here is running XP Home - on that, I do Start_Settings_Control Panel, then I open "Regional & Language Options", then select my own language there.

To get accents, you may have to do combinations of keypresses - look up "accents" or "international characters" in the help file for your word processor software for ideas. (For instance, in Word, to get a grave accent, you need to do <ctrl>+` before you type the letter you want accented).

Wired and onscreen keyboard space bar doesnt work

Keyboards are cheap. If you need to use this one then you will need to carefully pop the spacebar key out, turn the keyboard upside down and give it a good shake. You will see a ton of junk fall out ;)

My dog knocked over my Compaq keyboard. Now the divided spacebar is opposite what it should be. Instead of spacing on the right spacebar I have to hit the left side. How do I fix this?

Pull the space bar off by using your fingers. Underneath, you'll find a metal rod. Take note on which way it is facing, and how it fits. Make sure nothing in broken under the space bar, then put the space bar back on making sure it hooks in correctly.

I have a IBM WW 1500 all the keyboard works but the spacebar, is this the function or keyboard or possible homming sensor failure?

If everything wirks but the space bar you probably have a keyboard problem. If someone had the space bar off it may not be properly installed. You can pop the space bar off and look for debris under it.

My spacebar key is no longer working properly. I have an acer aspire laptop 5735Z . I deliberately pulled the key off to clean underneath and then just clicked it back on, thinking it would work normally....

There is usually a metal piece under the space bar, if it isn't seated properly the space bar will teeter. Try to remove again and see if they metal bracket is seated correctly.

Get a Electrical/Electronic solvent spray from RS, give it a good spray (with Power Off!) and operate it lots of times. The spray will evaporate naturally and may remove the gunk! Ian.

The rubber plug below the spacebar button is faulty. The button needs to be removed gently and the rubber plug below it which touches the board below should be cleaned. If this does not solve the issue the rubber plug below the button needs to be replaced. Its a common problem.

Acer laptop spacebar fell off

The space bar key is connected tothe keyboard a little bit differently then any other key.
clip_image002.jpg
There is a metal retainer connectedto the space bar key (on some keyboard models). Separate the retainer from thespace bar key with a flathead screwdriver.
clip_image004.jpg
Install the retainer back inplace as it shown on the picture. You have to engage the retainer with thesmall hooks on the keyboard.
clip_image006.jpg
Put the space bar key back inplace and gently press on it with fingers until it snaps back in place.
clip_image008.jpg
That’s it. The space bar key isinstalled back in place and should work as before. If you still cannot fix yourkeyboard, then you’ll have to find a new oneand replace it.
Pleas rate my solution on fixya if you are done.

Space bar does not work - any suggestions what is wrong?

Assuming this is a WW1000 the space bar will come off with a nlittle prying pressure under the center of the bar. Remove it and check for debris under it.
