Hi,
My phone has been dropped one too many times. Recently I noticed a piece from the front was missing which helps it to close (just a small piece by where the little light flashes). Today the whole top came right off, after doing some internet research, I think the "OEM Flex LCD Ribbon cable is snapped". I really don't know anything about fixing a cell phone. Is this worth fixing. I also found an ad for someone selling the same phone for cheap. Might it be a good idea to buy the other phone and use the parts I need? Please help!
Thanks,
Mary

Re: Fell too many times
HI Mary
As you know that most small cell phone case was made by plastic. Therefore, if you has droppd so many time, the impact causes most damage to the hinges and connector and if you love your phone then you can purchase the OEM housing on Ebay and have someone to replace it. The OEM LCD ribbon is always paired with the main LCD so if you purchase this cable, you should have the LCD as well. However, since you dropped the phone too much, it is not worth to fix if you don't know how. I can fix the phone and can replace anything in it but I still prefer to get the new one since even I know how to fix, parts and time to spend is already cost more than the new phone ususally cheap today if you need to use as a communication tool not entertainment tool or work one like PDA, Smartphone. Phone has too many time dropping will not work well one day and can die anytime. so buy a new one and keep this as replacement part. good Luck.

Jospeh

if your tire rolled over it after it fell off then you probably split your tire also have your shocks adjusted as the weight was relieved on front of vehicle some bumpers can weigh a ton and never notice a shock replacement
Top lid pull up. Look in seam between top and front cover. On each side you will see where top clips to front cover. Put a screwdriver in there and lightly pry up till clip releases. Front cover will now pull up and be removed, so you could get what fell in.
there is a screw that holds that piece of metal in place. take the screw out and remove the piece of metal then look at a local hardware or automotive store and ask for the windshield adhesive. and fallow that instructions pay close attention to the temperature to be applied at and the Harding or drying time.
My phone did this. It was six months old and Verizon replaced it no questions asked. They ship you a new phone and you have ten days to mail the old one back so you have time to take them both to the store and let the tech move the contacts over.
Have you tried a hardware RESET? The button is hidden behind the front panel, which snaps off by a fingernail slot located directly under the GARMIN logo on the front panel. * Use caution removing and reinstalling the front panel... it's somewhat fragile.
If this does not help, you need to try to run all updates (there may be several!) using Garmin's Webupdater. (Connect to computer with USB cable first.)
Remove the 4 dispenser area screws. Depress side dispenser tabs to drop dispenser assembly from the top lid .Insert an opener or flat item into top lid and front panel space to depress inward the metal lid top hold down clip.Do left side first then right.Raise the lid and look down behind lock mechanism.Or tilt washer and look underneath. It's an open area below?
