Panasonic NV-GS30 I can view as normal through the LCD screen in camera mode but not during VCR. There is no sound or picture (Just a blank grey screen. It won't show anything that i previously recorded and i cant tell if its recording new stuff. Cheers

There are time that we mis incalculate the differences of the system we used thus we have to know what type of system thus our camera is, the tapes, the vcr or player,if it not match some other vcr has multi system try to configured it out and change the type of system you are using to.

Please check Video head tip, if it is OK. Clean Video head with Head cleaning cassette. If Head tip is damaged head to be replace. thanking you & best of luck.

Panasonic nv gs30 can support mac

Connect the camera to a Mac and open iMovie then capture.
You will need a 4 to 6 pin firewire cable.
Note: Some Macs have a nine pin socket and some base models have NO firewire socket.

the ribbon cable that carries the signal to the screen sounds like it has become damaged
thatcan cause the problem
when it is all the way open it stretches the cable resulting in a gap to form, so when only open part of the way there is still a signal. see if there is anything in the hinge that might be causing the stretching of the cable, as that is almost surely the problem..

What leads do I need to connect my Panasonic NV-GS30

There is an optional cable available for your camera called the VW-CD1E that will make use of the firewire (DV) port on your camera. You will also need to have some sort of a video capture program like Adobe Premiere so that you can download the video from your camera and then edit or display it. You should be able to order the cable from any Panasonic retailer. The better electronic / video stores will probably have it in stock.

Usually it's inside the access door on the side. It looks kind of like a usb cable connection.

if the index go --:--:-- or 00:00:00 when you press play to view recorded material then you have a SERIOUS problem. That means heavy repair and cost. Buy something new.
