I have refilled cartridge but it still says it needs refilling how do i reset this
Hi there is the solution how to reset Advent AWP 10 printer cartridges, they has a small chip at the front, it has 2 contacts, there is small carbon line between them 2 contacts, all you have to do is to cut or scratch that line with something sharp to brake the circuit, and job is done you can use refill the cartridge forever. It will show always full of ink. Hope this will be helpfull
blimey ive put the new ink cartridge in and out over 50 times just about to jump on the thing tried your surgestion and hey presto !!!!!!!!!!! it works thanks x
i have tried this but although both levels show as full it now says it doesnt recognise the colour cartridge and i still cant print anything!!! HELP!!!
brilliant just tried it thanks
awesome worked first time, who knew printers could have so many complicated ways to try and prevent us saving a bit of money, so satisfying not having to pay for rip of advent ink
Didn't work for me. I could see, with an eye magnifier, some circuitry behind the two contacts, but nothing in between the contacts but I used a scalpel still no effect.

To get your printer to recognize the new cartridge; go to start - printer and faxes -right click on printer - preferences (printing preferences) -settings -load factory settings. Print test page Ctrl+P
SOURCE: refilled ink cartridges on pixma mp490 ...will not print
I know this is frustrating. I am all for recycling and using refilled ink and laser toner cartridges. However, the manufacturers make most of their money from ink and toner sales. So, from time to time, they will encode or datecode cartridge chips. The only times I've been ale to get around this is by using at least one genuine OEM cartridge to trick the printer. If that does not work, try another et of refills, or you will have to use only OEMs.
