I usually tell people at the outset that if they get into their service convergence menu and mess it up i wont be able to figure out what they did and you dont wanna do a scratch convergence to this chassis install new stk packs and the associated supply resistors cant miss em three 10 ohm 1/8 watt in parallel justt had one that i had replaced only of the two packs with a higher current stk pack ie; stk 392 -120 150 etc the resistors were subbed with a single flameproof 2.2 ohm 1/2 watt the service menu on that product is an art not easily mastered and am assuming that your skill set is not capable of even attempting any of this pay someone about 400 bucks for inhome call or go down to wally world and shop for a new crt projo tv i think the economics of it will quickly become apparent

I suspect that you have several capacitors in the convergence circuit that have gone out of tolerance if this problem did not show up until several months after the repairman left. These parts usually have to be unsoldered, tested for capacitance and equivalent series resistance (ESR's) and replaced one at a time. It is very unlikely you'll be able to adjust it out. If the set is over 7 years old, I would consider replacing it with a HDTV set. Otherwise, it could run about $400 to repair I would guess.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/PANASONIC-521A2C52-p/1177904.htm Have a blessed one!

Green color projection is lifting from the bottom left corner of the screen. Convergence adjustment for the green projection is unresponsive

Howdy,

The TV has a convergence problem; the IC’s for that circuit will need to be replaced. The cost for this repair runs around $450.00 or more.

Replace the defective Convergence Output IC Part Number (STK392-110. When Convergence Output failure is
detected, it’s recommended that both IC’s be changed.

Thanks for choosing FixYA, Big Irish.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together convergence repair kits for most models.

The kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, etc. Everything you will need to do the repair yourself.

Replace IC Convergance chip in Panasonic PT-56HX41PF

Enter the tip of a pointed knife between the left side edges of the connector (circled in black in the attached pic) and gently tilt the knife away from the connector. Do the same on the right side. The connector should pop up.

Green convergence on Panasonic PT-53WX42 is not ligning up...

Does not sound like the chips are bad.
What you need to adjust is "SKEW". You need to enter "service Mode" then go into "Coarse Convergence". Skew can be adjusted for all 3 colors. Unless you have the service manual, these corrections should not be attempted.

To clean the INSIDE of the screen, you really have to disassemble the TV. Remove all the screws that hold the "back" ( the piece with the mirror) to the front (screen) assembly.
The screen can be cleaned with a solution of diluted isopropyl alcohol, no more than a 50% solution. Drugstores will carry it, but it might be 70%-90%. Just dilute with distilled water (not tap water as it contains minerals). Personally I have used 70% with no ill side effects but 50% is recommended.
