P370 WILL NOT connect with your terminal or base, so forget about this intent and go for the goal which is loading your programming to your scanner. According to Motorola the work around is simple and faster than trying to resolve this.
Start with Reseting the scanner completly back to Defaults.
In the 123Scan, PRINT Barcodes and the rules ADF Rules of your programming.
Start scanning from
"Parameter Settings" until the last page barcode "Reset Scanner".
That is it. Problem solved.
You will need to do this for every new programming Rule.

Scanner needs to be put in program mode by reading the " Load 123Scan File"
barcode.

Thanks, problem solved. the problem was the the bit per second configuration, as default the scanner has 38400 bit per sec. and i was trying to connect using 9600 bps. once i change that in rs232 config i was able to donwload adf rules. the cradle is connected to my pc using rs232 cable, then I read the "Load 123 scan file" barcode.

I have a newly aquired P370 Symbol Scanner and I cannot get it to automatically "enter" (carriage return) after a barcode is scanned. I have reset the default application, and scanned the Suffix...

One of four reasons for this:

1. The scanner firmware does not support it. Firmware less than rev F does not support the enter- I do not think this is your issue though. You check the firmware revision in the main menu option 4 or scan the barcode out of the Product Reference Guide.

2. Custom firmware on the scanner prevents the enter from being sent. Again check the firmware. If it starts with anything other than an N you should consider sending the device in to Motorola to have it upgraded to standard firmware.

3. The cradle firmware is less than G. If the cradle is less than G it will strip the enter off of the data being sent. If the firmware in your scanner is new enough you can check the revision using menu option 4 in the scanner.

4. An MCL application on the scanner. If you see something other than SKU: on the display the scanner has a custom application on it. The application would have to be modified to add the enter or removed from the device.

I need to strip the last character from the barcode when scanned with a Symbol P370 scanner. Is there a procedure for that?

If the barcode is a UPC-A or UPC-E you would scan the Do Not Transmit UPC-A or UPC-E Check Digit barcode from the P370 Product Reference Guide.

If the barcode is something other than a UPC-A or UPC-E the last character can be stripped using Advanced Data Formatting which would require the use of 123Scan. You can download 123Scan from support.symbol.com.

The P370 is NOT supported by the newer 123Scan2.

How do I get my Symbol LS2208 to recognize EAN128. I need it to prefix [C1 when a EAN 128 is scanned.

you need to scan some of the bar codes found on the manual.
Find the product reference manual -usually found on the cd with the scanner or download from motorola site - and in chapter "symbologies" scan "ENABLE CODE128" barcode.
To have prefix when a code is scanned, scan "SCAN OPTIONS" then " then "ENTER"
Last set the preffix value by scanning "SCAN PREFFIX" then four digits that correspond to the character you want to use as preffix.
If you need more than one character for preffix then you will need the Advanced formatting manual, which ican be downloaded from motorola. In this case you need to create a "rule".

Let me know if you need further assistance

Symbol LS2208: Suffix with 2 x ENTER

You may need to enter two "rules", each adding an "enter" to the data. This is programmed by scanning special barcodes in the manual, which you can download here:

Suffix with 2 x ENTER

Try programming it by setting up a pair of ADF rules, each adding an "enter". This is done by scanning configuration barcodes from the manual in the correct sequence. You can get the manual here:

Symbol P470 Enter key for field enter

Hi,

Go to this page and follow the instructions in item #2. It will force the scanner to insert and "Enter" after every code is scanned. We use this option with most point of sale terminals and some inventory control programs to speed things up.

You will need to have you manual handy or download a copy from symbol to set the programming and you will have to print the 2 pages reffered to as you can't scan a screen... yet

Is it possible to send two suffix in symbol ls2208

Yes it is possible.

You will need to create the following adf rule which you can do using 123scan.

the barcodes generated will be the following:

Begin new rule.
Send all that remains
Send Extended key <Enter>
Send extended key <Enter>
Save Rule.

If you can't generate them, I can send you a pdf document with them already created.

Need my p470 symbol scanner to auto enter

It depends on whether you are using a keyboard wedge or a serial connection. Use 123Scan or MCL to make a change to the ADF file that tells the scanner what to do. Then you will have to upload the file to the scanner.

Appending an "Enter" to a scanned bar code
(Keyboard Wedge connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains Action 2 Send Value Keycode = 7013 <Enter> (String field must be empty)
Output after ADF rule 04843100<Enter>
Note: To have an ADF rule applied to all scanned bar codes, leave the criteria unspecified (Code Type = Any and Code Length = Any Length).

Appending a "Carriage Return Line Feed" to a scanned bar code
(serial connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100
Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains
Action 2 Send Value String = \0D\0A

Note: Keycode value is ignored when string field is populated.

Output after ADF rule 04843100<Carriage Return Line Feed>

Transfer info from the digital weight scaleto quickbooks

You would need to add an criteria or the rule, like barcode length or type. Than is the the scanner able to understand which barcode should be handled by the specific rule.
