Re: creative zen microphoto
Sounds like you have the settings set to turn off the back lite to save battery power, go to the first menu and scroll all the way down and there should be a settings menu it's in there to tuen off ater x number of mins

I've had similar issues with the Zen Microphoto, usually the case is a defective cable. Even though the PC sees the device that does not mean that the cable is connecting properly. Try using a different mini USB 2.0 cable. That fixed all of my issues with my Zen Microphoto's connection and inability to charge.
reboot mode to install again the firmware. download it from creative.com. its aan .exe archive. install all from the cd and if it doesnt recognize your zen, unistall the wp 11 and install the 10.be sure to unistall the 11 runtime too. best luck!

2. Detach the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto from the PC, and ensure that it is turned off.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears.
