Are the stripes like pixely (sharp stripes) or blurry (from background)?
You might have damaged the edge of the screen where the connections are and broke connections. These types of problems are impossible to fix. You need replacement panel witch can cost a lot. Cheaper is to buy new model. You can re-sell the screen motherboard, PSU as those are sometimes valued replacement parts for screens that have working panel but broken circuits.
Another tip for you is to find a exact same screen with broken circuits and replace those. I have found myself broken screens just for cents.
I can't think of black stripes that should be on a monitor. Like a grid in your viewfinder. The stripes should not be there. Is your camera still under waranty? (in europe we have 2 years with Nikon). Then I should contact Nikon and ask they can help you with this "problem" When you contact Nikon, please tell them when you have the stripes and when you don't have them. I assume you don't see stripes in the menu or when viewing pictures. I must tell you, personaly I never use live view, but I just checked on my more than 2 years old Nikon and there were no black stripes on the screen.
This is a camera problem. Are the stripes just on the screen or are they actually on the pictures when you download them to a computer or try to print them? If just on the screen, the screen may be cracked or the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard may be dislodged. Can you review previous (before the fall) pictures and can you see the menu items without stripes?...If so, then the screen is ok and the problem is deeper inside the camera.
Once you have stripes or lines in the screen then the only solution is to get the screen replaced but that would cost just as much or even more then getting a whole new monitor.
almost sure this is cause by flex circuit in the zoon lens that is damaged and need to be replaced. Almost always the problem of stripes in the picture is worst when you take pictures in full zoom mode because in this position of the lens the flex circuitis is fully streched. Thats all folks
