Janome 9000 Feed Dog and On/Off button problems

1. The Feed Dog on my 9000 will not raise up to feed the cloth through. Computer says it's raised but it's not. Tried a few rows of sewing by pulling it through...thought it would unstick but no luck. 1. The On/Off button is reversed suddenly. Now, green is for off and red is for on. What's up?

Manual sliding is not working for me. But I can unscrew the plate and lift the feed dogs with the screwdriver and it seems to run okay (until they drop again - then I still have to lift with the screwdriver

Try the emboadery slide in the back of the machine, This happened to me you just need to slide it over to the other side. It dose tell you this in your book.

How to raise and lower feed dogs on janome l344

Logically, from other sewing machines, the feed dog mechanism is usually located at the bottom right. So, the lever at the bottom far right would seem to be the feed dog selector. If flipping this lever does nothing, then it is probably worn or broken.

Why when I sew the fabrics not advance even if the claws are raised and the machine does not stop sewing. I have to close the switch

With the issues you are experiencing, it may be wise to take it for service.

Even though the feed dogs are raised, are they actually moving forward and back as you stitch (remove the thread, raise the presser foot, rotate the handwheel, and watch the feed dog action)? Check that the stitch length is set long enough that the feed dogs will be moving the fabric rather than sewing in place. Another thing to check is whether there is a pressure adjustment for the presser foot. If you are sewing light weight fabric, sometimes the pressure needs to be increased so the feed dogs are able to grab the fabric.

As for the machine running on, it could be a multitude of issues, ie the foot control, electrical... This may be something that a professional should evaluate.

Janome 3050 feed dogs wont come back up

Dropping the Feed Dog
The feed dog can be lowered with the drop-feed lever for sewing on buttons etc.
  • Shift the drop-feed lever to the right to lower the feed dog.
  • Shift the lever to the left to raise the feed dog, it will return to the up position when the machine is started.

NOTE:The feed dog should be in the up position for regular sewing. Turn the handwheel toward you to check if the feed dog comes up after setting the lever in the up position

How do I get my feed dog to move forward on Janome model6019

THE FEED DOG IS IN THE DOWN POSITION FOR DOING FREE ARM SEWING. SLIDE THE PARTS BOX OFF. THERE IS A SMALL SWITCH THAT YOU NEED TO SLIDE TO THE ON POSITION.

Fabric not advancing

run you finger over the feed dogs under the foot - can us feel them above the surround? if not, you have placed your machine into free style sewing, and the feed dog does not advance the fabric in this mode. Look in your manual and see where the feed dog gets lowered/raised - raising it again should solve your problem.

I have a Janome 900 MC and I am trying to embroider a label and can't get the carriage to move, it just sits there in one place. I have tried lowering the feed dog and was told to raise it back. I have...

when the feed dogs are in the down postion the machine stay in one place
when the feed dogs are in the up positon then the machine will sew
if the machine still doesn't sew when the feed dogs are in the up position the feed dogs need to be checked to see if they need a adjustment or need to be replaced

My Memory Craft 6000 feed dog is not advancing the fabric

If the feed dogs are engaged/raised, have you sewn since winding a bobbin?

The machine may still be in "bobbin winding" mode.

Raising and Lowering the feed dog on Janome 4900 MC

These machines are known to have this problem. The feed lift cam has a groove worn in it that won't allow the feed dogs to come back up. It is on the lower shaft and needs to be replaced. You can get the feed dogs back up by taking off the needle plate and lifting them up manually while turning the hand wheel. They should stay up until you drop them again.
Some people will not replace the cam and live with it.
good luck!

How do I raise and lower the feed dog

If you look at the back of the machine you should see the button that will let you lower the feed dog. It looks like you slide the button one way to lower and then the other way to raise the feed dog.

To make it a bit easier just go to the following web site and move down to the pictures as there is one showing the back of the machine. The button would be on your right:
