If you are trying to
connect through a modem/router the driver should have come with a disc provided
by your ISP internet service provider or your motherboard disc you might have to connect
the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then click start control panel
administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to network
adapters should see a yellow question mark? right click install drivers if you
cant find the driver hopefully one of these will help you
Ubuntu has his own print server. When you click on System/Administration/Print (not sure, because I use the French version :Impression), it opens a window. Then you select Go to the server (again, something similar to that choice), and you can configure the options for the server.
First Make sure that you have your PC connected to the internet, as the firmware manager will download the firmware from the firmware server, it is necessary that you have the PC online during the entire the process.
Run the application on your PC at Start->Programs->Philips Firmware Manager->Philips Firmware Manger.
Connect the GoGear player with the PC in normal mode. Switch on the player.
Firmware Manager will start the upgrade process after the player is detected.
Enter the serial number of your device. You can find the serial number as a 14 digital code printed on the sticker near the USB connector of the device e.g. SFxxxxxxxxxxxx and then click NEXT to proceed.
Click the START button, select the firmware and click OK.
The upgrade process will continue to download firmware.
Once the upgrade process is completed, click FINISH to close the application.
You may now disconnect the GoGear Player from your computer.
Out-of-band Management. This refers to using a network or other management connection to the router that is not part of the normal data flow in and out of the router. For example, if you connect a dial-in modem to the router's console port and manage it through a phone line...this is considered out-of-band-management because you're not using normal communications bandwidth.
I really hate suggesting it is a Netgear issue, and dump it, Edge, but most of the posts I found on that Print Server is not good. I would check for a setting in the Manger software, but not sure where it is. These link suggest it is a Netgear issue.
Firmware upgrade for your print server could fix your problem or kill your print server.
Try this first: SET UP A STANDARD TCP/IP port.
Set a static ip on the print server. Use that ip address to set up your STANDARD TCP/IP PORT. You can do this on the printers and faxes page.
Right click the default printer then click properties. You have to ADD A NEW PORT.
