I have an ALPS MD-5000 printer that has been sitting unused for about 2 years. I powered it up yesterday, and now get a flashing error light. The error I get says something about the print motor or head being misaligned. (mac) Does anyone know how to fix this... PLEASE HELP... I would love to use this again! Thanks!

I have an ALPS MD-500, when it powers up you will hear the carriage move but does not pick up any cartridges. then the error ( orange ) light comes on. If you push the reset button it will cycle but only repeat the same process. Is this a mis-alignment problem or a mechanical problem?
I have not used the Alps MD 5000 P for more then three years.
The error light blinks when powere up.
Error message reads:
This print job cannot be completed, because the printer has encountered an error of: Anti-cur Motor.
Thanks for you help
The printer gears up normally, prints the 'windows logo' and then the error light starts blinking.
Powered up an unused MD-5000 and the orange error light come on. Reset/restart it and the same thing happens. What gives?
