Check the metal tag inside inside the fridge, not the paper sticker in the freezer. My Hotpoint has both but only the tag in the fridge has the full model number. Correct model number tag should also have the serial number listed on the tag. Also some models will have a tag on the back so check there too.
Since Hotpoint is made by GE you may also want to look on GE website: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/
On their site I found a luink to a PDF scanned file of the user guide for CTF19 models. http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/pdf/39-6193.PDF
Last page of the PDF lower left is dated 9/82 this couls be close to the year of your unit.
Good luck.

There is a drain that carries water from the freezer to a drain pan in the base of the fridge. It has plugged preventing water from draining and in turn the water has froze blocking the flow of air to the fridge. First you must find the drain line in the rear of the fridge and unplug it as well as thaw the fridge out overnight to allow the water to drain... be patient as there will be a lot of ice to be thawed out, let me know if it works! good luck!
