I charge my LG KU990 full over night within 12 hours the battery

the magnetic closer may be causing interference with the units ability to stay connected to service..if thats the issue it will constantly be searching for a signal which sucks power to do..like being in a metal enclosure and getting reduced bars..

if your product is in warranty goto lg service centre and complaint them that problem with the battery, your phone ll get switched off within 1 hour after fully charged,
they ll replace ur battery.... surely. don't do any tweaks yourself u may lost the warranty.

its either your battery that needs to be replaced or your charger it's not working

your battery is dead. replace it immediately to live happily everafter.

it seems like you did not charge your cell for the full 16 hours when it was new and in the end this becomes a problem buy a new battery and charge it for the full 16 hours OFF

try to buy a new battery, your battery might have leaked or damaged...

So many issues here so lets take one by one.

Phone not charging or goes off before the recommended time means your battery is bad and needs a replacement. Batteries are not serviceable and hence cannot be repaired or fixed. You just have to change it.

PC not recognising USB port is due to an issue with the driver the PC needs to communicate with your phone.

Get the right driver and PC Suite to enable your PC recognize your Phone through the USB

I think you have to replace the battery..

I dont know if this will help you, but it helped me. I had the same problem, with phone not holding charge and getting really hot both during and after complete charge.
I needed my memorycard from my LG to my other phone, so I took it out, and off course the phone needed to be charged so I charged it, and... it did not get hot at all, and when it was finished, the charge lasted a day and a half!! Now the problem is I cant use the memorycard anymore in my Viewty :S Win/Loose situation i guess....

I saw on another forum two good tips.

1. Do not use a case with a magnetic clip.

2. Take off the battery cover and put tape over the two small etched squares that you can see one at each end on the inside of the cover.

I did this and up to now my battery has doubled its life. Still two bars after 1.5 days of medium use.
