NX 6800 GT Driver issues

Hi, My card was working fine for six months now, never had any compatability issues untill now, i've checked my card on other mobo's and the problem persists, vertical lines on startup and system halts as soon as new driver is installed and the screen goes blank. I tried cleaning my card and cooling it too so im guessing its not a heating issue. When my pc enters windows it detects the card and asks for a driver, when i install the driver the system halts when installation is half complete and the screen goes black and it never reverts back to the desktop, like i mentioned before its not running any games too Please Advise Hi, My problem is that everytime i turn on my computer my 6800GT graphic card starts giving these weird vertical lines during the boot process, first i though that the driver might be corrupt, i uninstalled the driver and installed new drivers but the driver installation comes to a halt after 50% completion and my screen goes blank and never comes back to windows, my card is not running any games either and is not letting me install new drivers, plus vertical lines appear as soon as the computer is switched on. Please help ! i've spent too much money buying this card.

I have almost the same problem, except that I had my card running perfectly for 3 years and all of a sudden it just gave up the ghost.

At first I wasn't sure if it was the video card, my mainboard ram or an HD problem. After formating the HD and reinstalling windows then checking the mainboard ram, I think I've narrowed it down to the video card.

Now, whenever I boot up into windows, I have to use the generic vga adapter drivers that it comes with, because whenever I attempt to install the actual drivers it stops and gives me a bsod and reboots the system without actually installing the drivers.

Alternatively, when I boot into safe mode, I can install the drivers with no problems, but when I reboot normally to windows it just stops loading halfway and then gives me a black screen. My monitor eventually assumes its getting no signal and goes into powersave mode.

Is there anyway to fix this? I'm pretty positive now that its the videocard's ram, but I can't find any application to check if its actually corrupted or not. I don't want to spend extra $$$ just to buy another card to test.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Either your graphics agp slot needs the driver updating or the card itself is faulty, check the agp slot for dust and gently moneuvre the card in the slot to see if the lines appear to change and check that therea are no bent pins in your connecting plug or card.

I am having problems with my nvidia GeForce 6800 GT. when i turn on my pc everything is fine, but whenever i play games for ex. bioshock or counter strike source my pc screan turns off and says no signal....

You may have adjusted the video settings of the games to higher settings that may not be compatible with your card.
While in a game press the windows key and D together.
If you go back to desktop it means the video settings of your games are to set higher than your card can support.
Hope this helps.
For further assistance please feel free to ask me.

9400Gt won't work anymore

Hello tainted feat,

Please download DriverSweeper:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-(Setup)_d1655.html
Reboot into SafeMode and select the Nvidia drivers and PhysX. Select only those. Do not delete the chipset drivers. Reboot into normal mode and then go here to download drivers.

This should work. Good luck

My nvidia card is not working...Failure with the driver

You should download and install this driver instead for your 6800:

That should take care of your problem.

Is my Motherboard compatible?

Try to find out what the AGP voltage is on the motherboard.
Some graphics cards use 1.5 volts and some use 3.
If it's a 1.5 volt AGP slot and you plug a 3 volt graphics card in, it either wont work or you could permanantly damage both card and motherboard.

Is my Motherboard compatible?

Probably not. There is not quite enough information in your post to really help, but from what I'm finding on the GeForce 6800 GT, it is only available in PCI-Express and AGP 8x (AGP3.0) Versions. Your motherboard only supports AGP 1x, 2x and 4x (AGP2.0) cards.
