Sounds like the blue crt is either shorted or one of the resistors on the blue CRT PC board is open

Sometimes resetting the microprocessor circuit is all it takes to fix a set. A shock, power fluctuation or something in the timing of the control circuit may have caused a momentary glitch in the television and resetting it fixed the set. Keep an eye on it and if there is another problem with it, reply here and we will try to work it out.

When you apply the screen protector, try to flatten it out with a CC as you apply it.
