Question about iiyama ProLite E434S 17" LCD Monitor
About 4 months ago we had a couple of power cuts within a few days of each other. Both times my computer and monitor were turned on and obviously cut out. I noticed, after the second occurence that my screen was a little bit blurry particularly using outlook express the type is a bit faint and it shimmers. Its usable and is not getting any worse. However the shimmer and blurred aspect is magnified hugely if I try to play any downloadable games on shockwave.com for example. It is fine for games like solitaire that are already on the system. any thoughts on correcting this would be greatly appreciated. I don't really want to buy a new monitor.
If you're talking about a CRT that is going on "The Blink", yes this is where the name comes from. And this is becoming more and more of a problem you do indeed need a new monitor.
Three good places to shop online is :
Be certain what ever you buy is compatible with your current video display adapter. If your adapter has a VGA and a DVI socket than you can get either in a flat panel which is to say 60Watts vs 180 Watts in power consumption. The larger the flat panel the more power it consumes. More often than not, a 17 or 19" flat panel is more than sufficient. If you actually plan on sitting at your PC and watching movies go wider. If you are a hard core gamer go wider. Otherwise, a 17 or 19" monitor should serve you well.

Dim or dark display can be caused by a faulty inverter board or faulty CCFL lamp. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, the CCFL lamp is a miniture fluro tube and these dim with age.
