Phone not used for a while-please give me advice on battery issues

Do you know how I can test a cell phone battery to see if it is stuffed or not? I have been given a spv c500 that was working when I was given it a few months ago ? but I didn?t have a charger for it so it went flat. Its been sitting flat for a while and im wondering if its stuffed the battery? I bought a charger for it but it doesn?t light up or do anything. Would a cell phone work if the battery is stuffed but the phone was connected to the mains? Not sure if a reset will fix.

Sometimes if the battery has gone well below it's re charge state, it won't even work when plugged in until it has got some charge to it.

Hi, my nokia 5530 is not charging at all.... at first it started charging but after a while it stopped..... but when i tried turning on the cell, it didn't and it is not recharging anymore.

Here's what I recommend for you to try out:

Remove the battery
Press and hold down on "Power" for at least 10 seconds
Return the battery in place and try to charge it

Similarly, here are some other options :

Try another known good working power socket
Seek another known good charger and try it out
Replace the battery

If these would still not resolve your issue, then the phone needs to be serviced by a certified technician. Please note that these are the only DIY procedure that I can give.

Hi, There are different possible things that can cause Your LG cell phone to malfunction the way it does. Possible reasons below:

The battery,,
The Phone memory.

The battery of the phone can be the problem.How Sometimes when a phone cell phone battery is weak and It might not be able to power up the phone. You can test the battery by using another battery to test on the phone,or you can test the battery by using the battery on another phone to test if the battery is still working properly.

The phone memory might also be the problem. When an application is being downloaded on a cell phone or being Transfered to another cell phone through Data cable or Blue tooth, it is easy for VIRUS to affect the phone and when a VIRUS affects a cell phone,the cell phone will malfunction.

To fix a malfunctioning phone like a VIRUS infected phone,you will need to flash the phone memory of the phone.

When you flash a cell phones memory,it will restore back the phone to it default state.

Hi, In most cases like this, there are two major problem that can make a cell phone to act that way.
Which are:

The batter of the phone,
And the memory of the phone.

When a battery of a cell phone does not power up a phone for too long,possible problem might be the cell inside the battery that powers on a phone is dead and can keep the phone on for long period of time...

You will need test for the battery life by using another battery to power the phone on, or you can get a friends phone battery to test your phone.

Also the memory of the phone can be the issue too. When an application is downloaded on a phone or data was transfered through blue tooth or data cable transfer,in the process of the transfer, it might have contacted VIRUS and when VIRUS affects a cell phone,The cell phone malfunctions..

To rectify the malfunctioning of the cell phone,you will need to Flash the phone memory.

Flashing a phone memory will restore back the phone to a default state.

First of all, it will be advice able for you to write in the name of the type of phone you want to change the batteries. If it is clearly stated, I will so happy to be f service to you. Please kindly state the type of phone you want to change the batteries. By stating the name of the phone and the model for example nokia E71 or samsung corby etc.
Also before replacing a battery of a phone, be sure to have tested other components that are related to the power before concluding it is the battery that needs replacements. Components to also check are the charger and the phones connection port by trying out other devices on them, like trying the charger on another device and trying another charger on the phone so as to know if the problem is from the charger or the connection ports respectively.

My phone dies after 10 mins of use is it my phone or battery?

It could be either of those. If you've had this phone for a while and it's gone through a lot of charging cycles, I'd say try another battery (one you know is good, if possible) and see if the problem continues. A worn-out battery can take a charge but not store enough energy to give good use. It's also possible that something in the phone has gone bad and is drawing excess current and draining the battery, but I'd say that's unlikely. Something drawing enough current to be an issue would probably cause heating you would feel.

So try another battery first if you can, or check with your service provider or a phone store to see they can test the battery.

My samsung impression overheats and drains my battery within minutes of use. i will have it fully charged. if i dont use it it will be dead in an hr or two. i just used it and i was on the phone for like...

Switched off suddenly

you have a loose battery connection. try stuffing a piece of paper on the end of the battery. next,. you'll open up and see the pin where the connection of the battery is. try pulling out the connection slightly and you'll be able to have the battery connected to the device.

then try knocking it back to test it. lol..

but the rest should be fine. mine had the same issue yrs back. but now its working fine.

V600i will not turn on ...

sounds like you may have a battery issue, try a new battery first, after that, you might as well get a new phone, since repairs are going to cost more than the phone does.

I cant send text messages from spv C500, say sim not valid I have kept my old company phone having left and am using a new SIM (orange SIM only) but I cant send text messages although I can receive them and everything else seems to work ok. The error message says that the SIM isnt valid when I attempt to send. The SMS service centre phone number is missing and when I enter it, the device wont save it / accept it so it remains blank. I have taken battery off to reset and spoken to orange who also sent me a message which was supposed to sort the problem but it remains unresolved. I cant get the phone to accept the SMS service centre number. Can anyone help?
