Question about Jwin JD-VD502 DVD Player

5 Answers

JWIN JD-VD502 I am having the "DVD playing in black and white" problem. I do not have a "switch" on the back of my DVD player. I just hooked it up for the 1st time and I have a HD Flat screen plasma. Is there something else I could have done wrong? And if there really is a switch, I think they forgot to put it on my DVD player. Can you give a little more info as to the exact location? Thanx!

Sounds like a PAL/ NTSC problem which you must fix on either your TV input or DVD player output or settings. This should fix the problem if you alter the settings.

I had a problem like this before. My movies were playing in B/W. I found one of the pins on the S-Video cable was broken.I replaced the cable all was good.

Go into 'menu' then 'setup' then 'line'. It should say you are set up for 'S Video'. If it doesn't, change it to 'S Video'.

I found that one of the pins on my S-Video cable connecting to the back of the DVD Player was bent. Once I straightened it out, and all of the pins connected properly, the B/W issues was resolved.

JD-VD502 DVD player blew a fuse. I replaced it with a 1-amp 250 volt from radio shack but as soon as I powered on, the fuse flashed and blew again. I tried twice, same result. Is there a reason this keeps...

Hello
Never put any fuse in it and switch ON. It has some short with internal circuit, and should be repaired before installing a new fuse. The fuse use is as a protection device to protect the other circuit parts from further damage. If you will put an other fuse, and switch it ON again, you are making things more worse than present. Find out the reason for buring out fuse. If you can do it by yourself. Otherwise get it repaired by any experienced service personal. Never make it irreparable. OK.

Dvd will only play in black and white any help

Are you using the composite input on your TV? If so, you might have plugged the input cable into one of the other video outputs on the DVD player. There may be a switch on the back of the DVD player to select the output format.

TV plays color, dvd black and white

Hi,

If I understand your post/description, the DVD plays OK except it is in Black & White. If so, change setting from PAL to NTSC or vice versa depending on the region you are in. US operates on NTSC, Most of Europe is PAL.

Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

No Picture

Pull the AC power out, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Sometimes pushing the on and off button isn't enough.
