The CMOS battery is located on the motherboard. You would almost have to take the complete thing apart before you find it. You would be better off downloading password recovery software like OphCrack. It's free as an .iso file so you would just burn it to a disc and it will find the password for you.

its inside the laptop motherboard, the shape is SPHERE or CIRCLE, its a Lithium Battery (CR2032), only technical support are going to open, if you wanted to open it... its your own risk.. Good luck!

Before you begin, back up your data and remove the battery. CMOS Bios will be lost but will reset on restart.

Step 1 Open the laptop computer's screen and lay it back as far as it will go. Be careful not to stress the screen and cause any damage, but press it hard if needed.
Step 2 Press a flathead screwdriver under the front of the plastic bar lining the back of the laptop's keyboard. Pry the bar up slightly and hold it with one hand.
Step 3 Pry up the other side of the bar with the flathead screwdriver and fully pull out the bar. Keep its ribbon cord connected and set the bar on the laptop's screen.
Step 4 Remove the two Phillips screws securing the computer's keyboard. Then, slide the keyboard up and out to remove it. Again, do not remove its ribbon cord, and set the keyboard over the laptop's touch pad.
Step 5 Remove the four screws securing the cover plate over the motherboard and remove it as well.
Step 6 Locate the CMOS battery at the bottom right corner of the motherboard.
Step 7 Remove the battery by prying it up gently with the flathead screwdriver. Then, replace the battery with a new one of the exact same specifications.
Step 8 Replace all the parts in the laptop in the reverse order that you removed them. -Battery Replacement

Need to clear bios on a aspire S3-391-6448

Try to unplug the CMOS again. This time remove the battery and hold down the start key for a minute or two.
If you do not have jumper pins, you will have to look on the motherboard in that general location for pad cross points. ( Where they would solder pins but none there )

All laptops have a CMOS, or "Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor," battery.
The main purpose for the CMOS battery is to keep the system time, date and BIOS settings even if the computer is turned off or the main battery dies.
Individual Acer Aspire laptop models differ somewhat, but the general steps are the same when replacing a dead CMOS battery.Preparation

Read through the owner's manual for your particular Acer Aspire laptop to determine what kind of CMOS battery you need.
Purchase the battery through Acer or a local or online computer parts dealer.
Turn the laptop off and unplug it.
Also unplug any external hard drives, cameras or other external devices.
Turn the laptop over (bottom facing up), then touch something metal to remove static charge.
Removal
Remove the Phillips screws that secure the motherboard cover (refer to your owner's manual if necessary), then release the cover from the clips on the bottom of the plastic casing.
Lay the cover aside, then locate the CMOS battery cable on the right side of the motherboard. Unplug the cable, then remove the battery.
Installation
Plug the new CMOS battery cable into the motherboard.
Slide the battery partially under the laptop casing to hold it in place, then align the cover with the slots on the bottom of the laptop housing.
Replace the screws, then turn the laptop back over.
Settings
Plug the laptop in and turn it on.
Enter your BIOS (usually by pressing "F1," "F2," F10" or the "Delete" key) before the operating system loads.
Follow the BIOS prompts or refer to your Acer Aspire owner's manual to reset your time, date and desired system settings.
BIOS Reset
Any time the CMOS battery is unplugged for more than a few seconds, your BIOS will be reset to the default manufacturer settings.
If you make any changes to the BIOS that cause problems with your Acer Aspire, unplug the CMOS battery for 3-5 seconds to correct the problem.

PASS BIOS ACER 2930 ASPIRE

Hi the only possible way to reset the password in the BIOS is to reset the CMOS battery. It is located in one of the panel below the sys (you must have proper expertise to do this) towards the right hand side. The battery is set on a jumper You first need to disconnect all power source i.e adaptor and battery. than remove the panels to try and locate the CMOS Battery. Remember not to tuch anything else or connect any of the cables any where else it may cause a problem for the sys and you. Once the CMOS battery is reset the BIOS password will have gone.
