hi, I think this may help. what you need to do first of all is change the default player for DVD's from Toshiba Video Player to Windows Media Player, cant remember off hand how to do that but should be in manual, but try this. go to windows control panel, select 'Default Programs' and click on it, then select 1st option 'Set Your Default Programs' a list of all programs will come up, look for Windows Media Player and click on it, then choose one of the options on the right. The top one sets as default, the bottom one allows you to set file types to open with the program. this should work as it is telling your system to launch that program for DVD's etc, If you cant find your control panel, simply click Start and type it in the little box that appears just above it.

Check the Toshiba site for updated drivers for your dvd player. Also check the recall section for your particular model dvd player. They had several that were recalled.

you have problem with EPEROM IC you have to bring your set to toshiba repair center and they give a new program to your set . the program of your set is defected must be repaied

Is this an external drive? Here a tip: Anytime you use a peripheral with USB you must load the drivers first, then hook up the device. This is only with USB devices. So try uninstalling your DVD driver, unplug the DVD player, reload the driver for the DVD player, then hook the DVD player back up. That should take care of it.

Try finalizing the disc with your PC using Dr. Divx or another finalizing program, and see if it will work in your DVD player. If that fails, then the DVD was burned in a format that the Toshiba will not recognize.

Please insert single layer DVD. they will be detected.
The DVD Player in ur pc can not read double/dual layer DVD's.
