Hotpoint Aquarius WMA54 very noisy during spin

When the machine spins it is very noisy. In the past on other washing machines I have found that this is caused by the carbon brushes being worn. Is this likely to be the case with the WMA54 and if so are they easy to replace or is it the bearings

Hi, if your H/P is noisy on the spin cycle, just open the door and turn the drum a few times. If you feel some play, or kind of loud huming noise, then it is the bearings, very, very common on H/P WMA's.

WMA54 won't empty water? We've emptied filter but

Could be the pump, but they do not often fail.
I would check the main hose or the pump itself for a blockage.
Try blowing down the hose to see if it is clear.

The water wont drain from my machine from the wash

What you need to do is check the pump is getting a feed to it
Select a spin cycle, and with a test meter, test for voltage across the pump terminals, if you are getting a feed, and the pump is working ok, then you obviously have a blockage beyond the pump.
If no voltage then could be a broken wire, or a faulty programmer/board.
ONLY CHECK FOR VOLTAGE IF YOU ARE COMPETENT TO DO SO, as it takes no prisoners.
Hope this helps.

Hotpoint WF220P has become very noisy during spin, especially at high revs. Can it be worn brushes or motor, or bearings? Otherwise all is OK.

Remove drive belt, and spin drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy, then the main drum bearings are worn.
If no noise from drum, could be a motor prob.
Please rate ,my solution.
Thanks.

WMA54 Hotpoint Aquarius drum does not turn during wash or spin

If the machine pumps water inside but does not start :

Start checking the lid switch, if this is stuck the machine wont start.

If the drum does not move at all, the motor, the motor control unit, the motor coupler, the control board may be faulty.

For more details , see: It doesn't spin

Does not spin and rinse properly

Sounds like motor is not coming up to spin speed. May be overheating, in which case you would need a new motor.
