Half load the 'half load' option only seems to be available for 'cottons'. is this correct? when i tried to select t after 'synthetics', it wouldn't let me. cheers in advance, pete

• By turning the dial, [Cotton - Cotton Quick - Synthetic - Delicate - Wool/Silk - Hand Wash - Quick 30 - Duvet - Baby Care] can be selected. This is a bi-directional selector
Try pressing the switch again to see whether it will disengage or try pulling it up.

The short cycle is only an option for Cottons. Make sure that you have set the desired program temp for a cotton cycle (95-30 degrees C). You should be able to select the Short cycle by pressing the button below the Soak light several times. (Note: this cycle is for small amounts of clothing which are lightly soiled - use less detergent (1/2 the amount for a full load).)

If it doesn't work when on the Cotton cycle, then the switch inside the control panel may be faulty.

I have an AWM 5100 and the programs are printed on the outside of the detergent drawer, 1,2,3 prewash cotton, synthetic, delicates, 4 full wash,5 short wash cotton etc..this is not on your machine? Check the Whirlpool site, if no luck, reply here and I will see if I can help more..perhaps I can scan and email to you? but might not be same control options.. my machine also has a rapid wash button, which speeds any cycle.

These covers can be clarified ON the car. I recommend Blue Magic headlight lense restorer. It is a cream and applies just like polish, use cotton NO paper towels, or synthetics. You may have to apply more than once to completely remove the pitting as yours seem to be very bad, however do NOT try to do the whole lense at once, the trick is small circles on a small area at a time. Wipe with a COTTON towel/rag to remove the residue, then polish with a clean cotton towel to finish. There are other brands that do the same thing, which I have tried. These products are available at Autozone, Advanced Auto, O'Reillys, and Pep Boys, for about $10-$15. I hope I've answered your question. Do not remove the lenses from the headlight assembly as this will cause the need to replace the entire unit. Thank you for trusting FixYa to help get you going!

button selection : To select an option press the button and you will see a light come on above the button. Press again to cancel and the light will go out. You cannot alter the options once the machine is running. Note : remember to cancel buttons after use!

As you look at the machine
Left hand button... Rinse Hold.. use this option to Help reduce creasing of delicate or synthetic fabrics by holding clothes in the final rinse water. The rinse hold light will flash to indicate that the programme is holding final rinse water. Complete the final spin by pressing the Rinse Hold button when light is flashing.
This is not available with Wool or Spin only programmes.

Middle Button.... Energy Save... use this option to save money and time on lightly soiled loads. This is not available with the Quick Wash, Rinse and Spin, or Spin Only programmes.

Right Hand Button .... Super Rinse... use this option for Large Wash loads and items for young children or people with sensitive skin. This option increases the water level for the first two rinses. This is not available with Cold Wash, Rinse and Spin or Spin Only programmes.
