Clif - I have two items in my garage with Tecumseh engines on them in that HP range and they both specify .030 spark plug gap in the instruction manual.

The ones I have owned had a 4HP Tecumseh on them but I think some of the real old ones might have had a 3 1/2 HP Tecumseh.
