Question about Philips Magnavox 9P6034C 60" Rear Projection Television
Hello and thanks in advance to the ****tube guru's. I have a 9P6034-C103. The television was moved upstairs and replaced by a 62" Sammy DLP. I think the set is now jealous that it has taken a back seat. After the move the set cannot be adjusted to get the right Contrast (Picture)/brightness balance. The darks are way dark and the lights are way light. I tried fiddling with the convergence, truth is the colors are aligned with the crosshairs in both convergence screens. I'd dare say that the picture seems cloudy as in the presence of a haze. At some point during one the adjustment sessions, there have been many many of those, I recall the image further left than it belongs. It's either that or the colors are all congregating on the left edge of the screen. I'm trying to keep my spirits up, although I am very frustrated. I put the set in my bedroom in order to watch tv in bed and this problem occurs. What's even more frustrating is that the extended warranty has expired and the set was fine as long as it was covered. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
With the remote enter 06-25-97-Menu under there you can clear up the problem. How ever moving these can be tricky as they move with one another and trying to get them straight can be frustrating. There is a template you can order however I don't see one for a 62 inch.

Press the MENU button on the remote.
2. Press 3 to select the Screen option.
3. Press 4 to select the Adjust Projection TV option.
4. Press 4 to select the Advanced Convergence option (the
Advanced Convergence screen appears).
The green pattern is fixed. The red and blue patterns are adjusted to
the green pattern. The Red Convergence appears first by default.
5. Colored cross-hairs show the current adjustment position on the
grid. To move the cross-hairs to a different position, use the
CH+/- buttons on the remote to move the cross-hair highlight up
and down, and the VOL+/- buttons to move it right and left.
6. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the red pattern. Each press of
the arrow button makes a slight adjustment from the center of
the cross-hairs - you can press and hold the desired arrow
button to make a faster adjustment, and then make fine
adjustments with single presses of the arrow button.
7. Press the INFO button to switch to Blue convergence and follow
the steps above to adjust the blue pattern.
8. Press OK to exit. You will be asked if you want to save the
adjustments
Yes Saves adjustments.
No Returns to the Advanced Convergence screen allowing
further adjustments.
Clear Exits screen without making any changes
Note: Before you use the advanced convergence feature, you must
complete the previous steps to align the tubes

An update...
I have narrowed the issue down to a scattered green image. I have been able to improve the image quite a bit via the convergence setting. The problem I still have is that in light scenes (such as outdoors) there are splotches of green throughout the screnn. When in the convergence screen, if I adjust any of the colors, there is a lot of flickering everytime a buttin is pressed. The green letters in the instructions were really blurry and splotchy, now they are readable but still way out of focus. The crosses towards the ends (left & right) are very dark, almost to the point that the color separation is not visible when moving the crosses intentionally. The arrows at the center have a vert bright glow around them.
I apologize for the poor description of my problem and lack of terminology.
