Question about ASK Proxima Proxima DP2000X Multimedia Projector

Proxima DP2000x troubleshootind

I am a new systems tech for a company that has a Proxima DP2000x projector. There isn't a manual and I seem to be unable to find one online. The problem is that when I turn on the projector, I get a screen projection for a few minutes but then the screen goes out and the Power light flashes. If I turn off the projector and turn it on again, I get a screen projection again, but only for a while and then the same thing happens. It has been suggested that it may need a new bulb, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Any input would be helpful.

It is normal for a projector to not turn on if there is no bulb. It is a safety precaution.

Hi,
Projectors are designed to be used with a lamp and will turn off when there isn't one present. You would have to purchase a new lamp to use the projector.

Display is green. would this be caused by a bad vga cable?

yes it can.try a new cable. if that doesn't fix it your lcd panels are probably burnt.

Bought a new Dell Vostro laptop with Windows 7. Does not pick up a Proxima dp2000x projecto. Any suggestions

the resolution doesn't match. the dp2000x is a relatively old projector that can't handle the laptop's signal.

Screen goes out have to turn off projector un-plug unit and turn back on again, 10-15 mins screen goes out again how to solve this problem

this model is known for having power supply issues as they get older. unfortunately, there are no replaceable parts unless you know how to solder.

it might be dried out, and you cannot tell from looking at it. but there are transistors on there that go bad.
