I was watching a dvd when the screen suddenly froze. I thought it was just the disk so I took it out to clean it but when I put it back in, it still wouldn't play. It keeps saying loading when I put the disk in like it doesn't even recognize that there's a dvd in there. Please help!!!

I'd say put an audio cd in an see if it reads it if not you may be able to get a dvd cleaner which is a disc that will clean your player internally. Hope this helps

you cant just sway HDD< the HDD put in alien must be freshloaded with the correct HP windows, disk. 2005 is first year made old that is,
here is a black screen page with simple tests test 1 does bios screen work. i bet yes so reload the oS disks from HP sold with windows 2000, XP and Vista. which one you have only you know;
It's not the lens. It's the bottom plate on the disk pickup. Dust gets on the rubber pieces (there are three oval shaped pads) that do not adhere properly to the disk which causes the disk to turn too slowly for the lens to read it properly. Clean those off with alcohol swabs and let dry. Also blow off all the dust in the unit since it will already be open. I have also decided to leave a disk in the player so that dust will not have a chance to get on those bumpers again. I did this last weekend and have not had problems since.
clean the DVD player with a cleaning kit you buy from any eletronics store. If that does not work you need to service this as the optical laser is not functioning when it heats up at the solder joint this would cause artifacts and freezing as you prescribed. So diagnosis dirty optical laser or malfuctioning optical laser at solderjiont.
1.You Should Try to clean your disks
2.put one in and go to games or videos depending on what u r doing and if your ps3 detects there is a game in there press triangle on the disk icon and select play

The problem with your unit is the "Spindle Motor", this motor is the one that spins the disc so the laser can read it. I sugest you to take your player to a shop, or back for service if the unit still under manufacturer warranty.
This weekend we were watching a movie.
It started to skip. I thought it was a dirty disk, took it out, cleaned
it with a dry cloth and put it back. Now nothing will play.
When
I insert a disk it starts to revolve the machine says reading, two
zeros appear and the it stops. My wife noted a message H02 and the manual says to call for an explanation.
We tried turning the machine off and on and we tried pulling the plug -- no luck. What is the problem?? Jeff
Usually if there is a NO DISC error, and the lens is verified clean, there is either dust in the laser assembly (use a can of compressed air to clean it out) or a loose laser assembly cable. Also check to make sure the lens can bob (wiggle around), and that it can slide back and forth.
The emergency eject is underneath, its a small slot. Insert a toothpick at one end and slide to the other end to open the tray.
first thing i would do i clean the lens with 90% isoprople alcohol and a q-tip, if that doesn't work watch the laser eye again and the movement is the laser look like it tries to catch up??? i would put a dc volt meter on the motor and the motor should stay at lower voltage if it climbs then there is something with the rails or worm gear. let me know what you find out.
