Question about Sony KV-36FS100 36" TV

1 Answer

Front controls mixed up & remote doesn't work

My kids were fighting over the channel and pushing buttons on the front panel and the remote simultaneously. The result was the TV can no longer be controlled by the remote and the front panel buttons are "mixed up". In other words the volume button now changes the channel, the on/off button sometimes works sometimes doesn't work. Sometimes to turn off the set I have to hold down several buttons. Also the display shows the channels changing continuosly (the numbers keep cycling down) but the TV remains on the current channel. Other than this problem the picture and sound work fine. The remote is OK because I have another Sony set that responds perfectly to this remote. I have tried to reset the TV using the reset feature on the remote, but again the remote doesn't have any effect on the TV. I have made sure I am pressing the TV button on the remote to make it work in TV mode. I unplugged the TV overnight and retried the next day with the same results.
